Serious. Closet. Porn.

This is the second closet we have designed for our client, a successful Broadway producer with a taste for all things luxury. She called us into her 1,800-square-foot home in Rye, NY and gave us a brief for a custom wardrobe, with five commissioned pieces, and a $450,000 budget (Editor's note: !!!.) The result is a sleek, beautiful closet. Click through for photos!

I couldn’t believe how many Hermes clutches she owned, so my first question to her was — with a pang of jealousy — “How?!” Then, I wanted to know how best to store them. She wanted them accessible but not completely out in the open, so we arranged them neatly behind her mirror."

She wanted a specialized lighting design that takes into account the two beautiful skylights in her dressing room.

We designed especially for her an integrated safe, shoe storage, sweater cubbies, trays, and valet rods.

We built an extension, which was narrower than the rest of the space, so it was a real puzzle figuring out the right program for hanging clothes versus storing accessories.

The look that inspired us the most was the Dior Store, circa 1980s.
There are so many tricks to make a smaller square footage feel large. Surface-mounted valet rods from a hardware store will change your life. Stash your dry cleaning, style your outfit, edit your wardrobe, all a snap.
