clos-ette solutions: color coding

Posted on May 12, 2011 by Melanie Charlton

Color coding one’s clothes might seem like nothing more than an anal habit of OCD types, but it’s actually an incredibly useful –and incredibly easy –way to organize one’s closet.

Once you’ve grouped like items with like (skirts together, pants together, sleeveless tops together, and the such), organize each category from light to dark to further streamline your closet. Why? It makes visualizing what you have –and what’s missing –that much easier. When it comes to putting outfits together, it also allows you to mix and match separates in a snap. Don’t just take our word for it –fashion icons like Nicole Miller, Ivanka Trump and Shoshanna all cop to being closet color-coding fanatics!
