It’s no secret that Clos-ette has a soft spot for jaw-dropping fashion and art. But combine the two –as Stephanie Hirsch does in her dazzling new creations –and we’re totally in love. The founder of resort wear line inca, Hirsch now applies her design savvy to creating large-scale canvases emblazoned with her favorite mantras. The resulting works, boasting beading, embroidery, and even some bling-worthy rhinestones, are equal parts witty, wise, and totally statement-making.

Stephanie with The Youth Shall Set You Free
(Beads and Embroidery on Canvas, 49”x43”)

What provoked this artistic endeavor?
I decided to turn my attention to art because I have always used mantras and sayings to help me stay focused and centered.  I was at a place in my life where I was not feeling inspired, and I literally and figuratively needed to bring these mantras and sayings to life.

Don’t Give Up It’s Not Your Style
(Beads and Embroidery on Canvas, 52”x50”)

What are your inspirations?

What inspires me are obviously different sayings and mantras, but what inspires most are my children. As the saying goes, "The Youth Shall Set You Free"!

Every Saint Has a Past and Every Sinner Has a Future
(Rhinestones, Embroidery and Beads on Canvas, 41”x39”)

Where can we find your work?

My work will be available at Clic Gallery in East Hampton and also at Alexandra Von Furstenberg in Los Angeles.

Keep Calm and Carry On

Tell us – as a true fashionista, what’s your favorite clos-ette too product?

The Signature Coat Hanger. I cannot live without it! It is amazing how many winter coats I can jam into my closet. The best part about the hangers is that they prevent the shoulders of my jackets from becoming stretched out.
