We may have a handful of fashion gurus, but we’ve only got one art guru: Christina Floyd Di Donna. The founder of Floyd Contemporary spends her days helping clients build their contemporary art collections and keeping an eye out for up-and-coming talent. And when she’s not dealing Damian Hirsts and scoping the next Richard Serra –or tending to the daughter she and husband Emmanuel welcomed this spring? Floyd Di Donna, the daughter of Hall of Fame golfer Raymond Floyd, serves on the board of, and as the Ambassador-in-Chief to, the Pin Down Bladder Cancer campaign. We asked the New Yorker to give us a peak inside her impeccable closet and tell us how she does it all in style.

How would you describe your personal style?
It’s somewhere between bohemian and sporty. On vacation, I love to wear lots of color, and am obsessed with anything long, flowy, and full of colors and patterns. But on a day-to-day basis in NYC, I am usually in jeans, a t-shirt, and a leather jacket. It seems to be the same in summer and winter –I just substitute boots for flats.
What will you never get rid of?
Since I was 17, every year on my birthday I bought myself a dress from Tracy Feith. He closed his shops in the Hamptons a few years ago, but I have about 10 dresses that I absolutely love and will never get rid of. I have had them taken in and let back out and hemmed and let down a number of times so they always work. They are all so loud, colorful and fun that you can only really wear each once or twice a summer. But I am obsessed with them all. They never go out of style.
Who are your go-to designers?
For everyday, it has to be Helmut Lang. I can walk in that store and buy pretty much everything and wear it out the next day. I think the clothes fit so well and they are all staples with a bit of an edge. For a little spice, I love Matthew Williamson and CALYPSO Christiane Celle. I also love Aperlai shoes. I feel like every pair is a little wearable sculpture and they are remarkably comfortable.
What’s your favorite investment piece?
My black leather Helmut Lang motorcycle jacket. I wear it all of the time, and always travel with it. It works over everything.
We hear your mother has an amazing closet. Do you ever raid it?
It is indeed amazing, and I always raid it to borrow her jewelry. She has an incredible necklace that I have been obsessed with ever since I was a little girl. It is two chains with sharks teeth –one chain the teeth are made from bone, and the other, the teeth are made from tortoise shell. It’s just so cool and unique.
Who else’s closet would you love to raid?
I think it has to be Johnny Depp’s. He must have the most amazing collection of accessories!
