If there’s any space left in your Travel Jewelry Case, then listen up: get thee to the OC Concept store for a dazzling selection of fine baubles, timepieces and other one-of-kind finds curated by Orianne Collins. The Swiss jewelry designer and entrepreneur (and former wife of Phil Collins, whose closet we designed) opened the sleek New York boutique with the goal of offering exclusive jewels, accessories, and art for “people who have everything.” Her own namesake jewelry line, first launched in conjunction with the Little Dreams Foundation, is the store's standout. The nine distinct collections range from playful to downright opulent, but all boast impeccable craftmanship (and bling aplenty). We're talking show-stopping diamond cuffs, topaz earrings, and onyx cocktails rings. Who could say no to such treasures?

We sat down with Collins to chat about her inspiration, shopping trips, and burgeoning shoe collection.

What inspires your jewelry designs?

I design different collections for different women. My inspiration comes from my travels and my dreams. One of my collections was inspired by the Palais Glaoui in Fes, Morocco. I loved the door –and I created the Tales earrings from that inspiration.

Who are your favorite designers?

Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, and Dior. I admire Armani a lot – I was lucky enough to meet him many times. He designed some fantastic dresses for me.

What’s your ideal shopping day?

I would go to Paris. I do it, actually, just before school starts. I go with my kids and spend the day shopping –from clothes, to toys, to everything that you need. So it’s quite fun.

What’s your favorite thing to shop for?

Shoes! I love Yves Saint Laurent, Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Dolce & Gabbana, Dior, Chanel. My closet has special drawers that are sized to my shoes. It’s very organized, but I have lots of shoes. It’s outrageous!

What’s the most  cherished thing in your wardrobe?

I have a couple of beautiful evening gowns. One especially was designed by Giorgio Armani –there were only two made of that dress, and I love it. There’s a big story around it: at that time, I had just had a baby, and we had a gala for the foundation two months after. I wanted to fit into the dress, so I had to lose 18 kilos. And I almost did it – so I wore the dress!

Do you have a hard time getting rid of clothes?

There are times that it’s very easy to get rid of old clothes –for instance, when you’ve just had a baby. All of the huge clothes you throw out. Otherwise, I’m very classic.

What would we never find in your closet?

Red pants and pink shoes. My favorite color is black. In my closet, it’s a question of black, then black, then more black. [No matter what your favorite color, you'll find it among our Signature Hangers' many hues]

Whose wardrobe would you like to raid?

I would have loved to raid the jewelry drawer of Elizabeth Taylor. When it comes to jewelry, nothing can compare to Elizabeth Taylor’s collection. That is why I am hosting a luncheon with Christie’s to celebrate the auction of her most iconic pieces. But if I had to raid a closet, I would go with Victoria Beckham’s. She is one girl who as it all –great shoes, great bags, everything.
