Bikinis and bandeaus and beach trips, oh my! It’s our favorite time of year, and we’ve got a favorite new swim collection we’ll be wearing all summer. Meet Été, the line of sweet, retro-chic suits from our pals Laura Poretzky-Garcia and Lily Dickerson Maddock. The designing duo recently launched their debut collection, and we’re loving the just-right details –think nautical stripes, darling bows, and just enough Brazilian bravura to turn heads. Here, the girls behind the brand share their summer style secrets and give us a peek inside their closets.

What are your summer plans, and how will you dress for them?

Lily Dickerson Maddock: I spend the summer in Southampton. During the day, I go from my horseback riding clothes (polo shirt, boots and jodhpurs) to beach attire (Été bikinis, Roberta Freymann and J.Crew cover-ups, Jack Rogers sandals and a big hat). At night, I usually wear skinny jeans with wedges and a sweater because it's colder on the beach when the sun goes down.

Laura Poretzky-Garcia: We’ll be spending our summer in many places, including the Hamptons, Miami, and Portofino. My summer style consists of a few easy dresses and great accessories. I mainly like black and white. Those are the colors that look good on me. And for accessories, always gold.

What’s the most-worn thing in your wardrobe?

LDM: Skinny jeans by J Brand and riding boots.

LPG: This long black dress I got from Balenciaga’s silk line a few years ago. I absolutely love how easy it is and how great it looks no matter how I feel that day.

What designers can’t you live without?

LDM: I honestly tend to spend more money on my accessories and less on clothes. I love Celine bags, Chanel booties, Louboutin wedges, Hermès belts, and my husband loves to give me jewelry from Cartier. For clothes, I love J Brand jeans, J.Crew cashmere sweaters, Stella McCartney blazers, dresses from Erdem and t-shirts from The Gap.

LPG: I love Dolce and Gabbana for their amazing fit. Nothing beats one of their dresses. I also love Alaia. I have a few pieces and they are just recycled year after year, without ever looking dated.

Who’s your fashion icon?

LDM: Catherine Deneuve. She is elegant, beautiful and her style is timeless.

LPG: I have to say Kate Moss, because she always looks totally appropriate for every situation while looking extremely cool. She seems to choose one thing about her to make up –it’s either her hair, or just a lip, or just the gorgeous cat eyes with a messy hair. I feel like that is what keeps her current and cool.
